Ethical issues in the care for elderly
PAC-E: Preferences and Activity in Cancer Patients & the Elderly
This project aims to better link the emerging area of geriatric oncology with the ongoing research strand on frailty. We also strive to enrich the strongly biologically framed approach of the overall research proposal with a psychosocial perspective, linking psycho-geriatric oncology and geropsychological expertise. We do so to better understand the role of age, frailty, and biological predictors of toxicity on the overall psychological situation of patients and their preferences for treatment. Besides its fundamental research ambition, we also expect our project outcomes to improve the clinical management and decision making with old and very old cancer patients.
