Head Neck Cancer Center

The Head and Neck Tumor Center (KHT) is an interdisciplinary center in which medical specialists from the Department for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (MKG), the Department for Otorhinolaryngology (ENT), and Medical Oncology and Radiation Therapy work closely together. The KHT is integrated into the structures of the Comprehensive Cancer Center (CCC) at Heidelberg University Hospital (UKHD). Since 2019, the KHT has been certified as an Organ Cancer Center according to the criteria of the German Cancer Society (OnkoZert).

Malignant tumors of the head and neck region are among the sixth most common forms of cancer worldwide and affect more than 15,500 newly diagnosed patients per year in Germany. At the Head and Neck Tumor Center UKHD, more than 300 newly diagnosed patients with head and neck tumors receive interdisciplinary treatment each year.
