External perspective of the future NCT building

Thanks to the financial support of the regional government, in the next three years the facilities of the NCT Heidelberg will be expanded to about twice as much space as is currently available. Specifically, the laboratory wing will be extended northwards on all three levels. A three-story building will be built between the clinical area of both day care units and the street on the Neuenheimer Feld campus. The new building will provide space for offices and seminar rooms, and the laboratory extension will have a reseach area close to the clinic with ten places to conduct phase I studies on the ground floor with two additional laboratory areas on the upper floors. The main entrance will be closed at the start of construction and an alternative entrance for patients and staff will be set up with the corresponding signposts.

The total costs for the extension of about 20 million will be paid by the State of Baden-Württemberg. The furnishings in the building will be provided by the NCT Heidelberg, the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) and Heidelberg University Hospital (UKHD).
