For a great number of tumor diseases, surgery is a central element in oncologic therapy. In many cases, the surgical removal of a tumor and/or its metastases leads to a significant improvement in the prognosis of the tumor disease. The representatives of these surgical clinics participate regularly in the interdisciplinary tumor board meetings at NCT. Together with their colleagues from other medical fields, they discuss for every individual case whether surgery is reasonable or not.
