For a great number of tumor diseases, surgery is a central element in oncologic therapy. In many cases, the surgical removal of a tumor and/or its metastases leads to a significant improvement in the prognosis of the tumor disease. In some cases, a chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy is performed additionally either before or after surgery. The NCT team works closely with specialists from all surgical fields, for example:
- the Department of General, Visceral and Transplantation Surgery,
- the Department of Thoracic Surgery,
- the Department of Urology,
- the Women's Hospital,
- the Center for Oral, Dental and Maxillofacial Diseases,
- the Center for Otorhinolaryngology,
- the Department of Neurosurgery,
- the Center for Orthopedics, and
- the Department of Dermatology.
