Information, support, exchange: Virtual encounters at the 17th Heidelberg CancerPatient Day

On Saturday, April 2, 2022, this year's Heidelberg CancerPatient Day was once again held as a virtual event. A total of 318 participants took the opportunity to listen to presentations on the latest therapeutic approaches in oncology, studies at the NCT Heidelberg and other topics, and to put their questions to the speakers. Following the lecture program, the popular expert rounds took place, during which doctors were available in seven separate conference rooms to answer entity-specific questions and concerns of the participants. In addition, thanks to the active participation of various self-help groups, there was also the opportunity to ask questions about dealing with the disease. Around 200 people took part in the expert forum.

The event program can also be viewed afterwards at https://indico.dkfz.de/e/krebspatiententag  (available until eight weeks after the event).

Back to the face-to-face format

Numerous positive feedbacks show us that the virtual alternative was very well received. Nevertheless, we are hopeful and confident that next year it will again be possible to hold an on-site event in Neuenheimer Feld. We will be happy to keep you up to date on this depending on pandemic developments.

The next patient day in spring 2023 is already being planned. Information will be announced in time on the NCT website or in the event calendar. To be added to our information distribution list, please contact nct-events@nct-heidelberg.de.
