The Visceral Oncology Center has been certified according to the criteria of the German Cancer Society (DKG) since 2024. Prof. Dr. Christoph Kahlert and  and Prof. Dr. Dr. Christoph Springfeld are the head and coordinator of the Visceral Oncology Center. There are currently four Organ Cancer Centers under the umbrella of the Visceral Oncology Center: the Colorectal Cancer Center (since 2021), the Stomach Cancer Center, the Liver Cancer Center, the Esophageal Cancer Center (since 2024) in Pancreatic Cancer Center (in certification).
