PEF-Immun research project wins Roemer Prize 2024
Jessica Hassel, Department of Dermatology, Heidelberg University Hospital (UKHD), Skin Tumour Centre, National Centre for Tumor Diseases (NCT) Heidelberg and Christiane Bieber, Department of General Internal Medicine and Psychosomatics, UKHD, received the Roemer Prize 2024 for the PEF-Immun research project. The award ceremony took place on 14 March 2024 at the 74th meeting of the German College of Psychosomatic Medicine.
The PEF-Immun (Participatory Decision-Making for Immunotherapy in Metastatic Melanoma) project developed and evaluated a web-based medical decision-making tool for patients with metastatic melanoma. The aim of the project is to support patients and their doctors in participatory, i.e. equal, decision-making.
The Roemer Prize is awarded annually by the Board of Trustees of the Hans Roemer Foundation for outstanding scientific work in the field of psychosomatics that promotes the integration of psychosomatic issues into general medicine or the clinical disciplines of medicine. This year, PEF-Immun was awarded the prize for its manuscript of results, which documented the successful implementation and evaluation of a research project spanning four years.
