Event formats

  • Every Wednesday, an “Interdisciplinary Training Session of the NCT Heidelberg” on oncological topics takes place. The events are held online. Within these Wednesday training sessions, there are
    • “State of the Art” (State of the Art) lectures that provide information on the latest developments in the diagnosis and treatment of a specific tumor entity.
    • The “Weiterbildungscurriculum für die Junge Onkologie” (Further Training Curriculum for Young Oncology) imparts practice-relevant knowledge to young professionals.
  • The annual NCT Spring Symposium focuses on the current state of science and innovative topics in oncology.
  • The “Heidelberg Grand Rounds” series of events offers a platform for scientists and clinicians, where renowned experts present the latest clinical and scientific findings in relevant fields of oncology and hematology.
  • At the “Highlights of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting” and the “Highlights of the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Annual Meeting”, experts from the DKFZ and the UKHD present the most important conference results online and discuss them with internal and external colleagues.
     
  • These training sessions are supplemented by meetings of study groups and expert forums, as well as symposia and workshops organized by the clinical program areas of the NCT Heidelberg.

As part of the NCT, the following event formats are available:

  • Regular virtual workshops focusing on the NCT Priority Disease Areas (PDA) and Priority Research Themes (PRT).
    These workshops offer the opportunity to present and discuss study ideas and synopses with researchers and patient representatives from all NCT sites as well as the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ).
    Participation is available to members of the NCT community upon moderated registration. Registration is possible via the following link: NCT Workshops – Registration.
  • The annual NCT Community Retreat, which promotes scientific exchange and nationwide networking among clinicians, researchers, and patient representatives from all NCT sites and the DKFZ – with the goal of jointly developing study concepts.
