German Cancer Congress 2022

Improving the interfaces between innovation and care

"Cancer medicine: interfaces between innovation and care" is the motto of the German Cancer Congress (DKK), which will be held from November 13 to 16, 2022 in the City Cube Berlin. At the largest oncology congress in the German-speaking world, representatives from science, medicine, healthcare, politics and care will exchange information about the latest findings from research and care for cancer patients in around 300 sessions. The DKK is organized jointly by the German Cancer Society (DKG) and German Cancer Aid.

Once again, the Cancer Congress addresses students and young oncologists with special session formats. "Promoting the next generation of scientists and physicians is immensely important to us," says the congress president. "That's why the sessions are chaired by a dual leadership of an experienced colleague and a young talent."

In addition to the program items specifically tailored to young researchers, the DKK offers plenary sessions on medical and care-related content, such as human-machine interaction in oncology, innovative therapeutic concepts in common cancer entities, immuno-oncology and translational oncology. The program also includes tumor conferences with interdisciplinary case discussions and highlight sessions on medical issues – such as long-term survival and vaccinations in cancer medicine. Participants also have the opportunity to discuss current political challenges for cancer medicine in the healthcare system in health policy forums.

Due to the Corona pandemic, the congress, originally scheduled for February 2022, Was postponed to November. The DKK takes place every two years in Berlin – this year for the 35th time. Interested parties can register for DKK 2022 here: www.deutscher-krebskongress.de/teilnahme.html
