The 150-minute ESMO exam is an assessment tool for practicing medical oncologists and provides an opportunity for medical oncologists in training to test their knowledge. Successful candidates are certified over a five-year period.
The total of 100 multiple-choice questions cover all areas of medical oncology, including basic elements of tumor pathology, histology, epidemiology, and biology. In addition to all cancer types, the ESMO exam also includes practice-oriented questions on diagnosis, staging, management, evaluation and prognosis of cancer patients.
The exam venue is the lecture hall of the Department of Medicine (Im Neuenheimer Feld (INF) 410). The closest parking garage is located in INF 160. If arriving by public transport, the bus stop "Medizinische Klinik" can be used.
Candidates are asked to enter through the main entrance of the Medical Clinic. Inside the building, the lecture hall and seminar rooms are located on the right. The building will be signposted.
Participants are required to wear a medical mask and show proof of immunization against SARS-CoV2:
