NCT Heidelberg – Clinical Translational Research Fellowship

The National Center for Tumor Diseases (NCT) Heidelberg aims at accelerating the transfer of scientific results from bench to bedside and vice versa. To further support the next generation of translational and clinical cancer researchers, we continue offering training opportunities with a new call for fellowships in 2026. The fellowships aim at advancing junior clinician and medical scientists in the field of clinical cancer research.

Program Overview

The NCT Heidelberg Clinical Translational Research Fellowship provides a unique opportunity for junior clinicians and medical scientists to develop their own innovative study ideas with the goal of preparing them for submission to the NCT Overarching Clinical Translational Trial (OCT2) Program. Fellows will work within their home department or another department at NCT Heidelberg and its supporting institutions, refining their study idea with dedicated time, expert guidance, and feedback on essential aspects such as protocol development, patient involvement, ethical aspects, and more.

Fellowship amount and duration

The fellowships offer dedicated time for fellows to further develop their study idea. Salary costs for the duration of the fellowship will be covered, but additional expenses, such as equipment or consumables are not included.

Applicants must commit at least 40-50% of their time for a 6 to 9-months fellowship or 80-100% for a 3 to 5-months fellowship. Requests for fellowships with varying time commitments will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

All fellowships must begin and end between March 1, 2026 and end of 2026.
