A rare disease that mainly affects younger people and has so far meant a poor prognosis - this combination characterizes fusion-driven sarcomas. An interdisciplinary team has been researching this aggressive tumor type for three years in the HEROES-AYA project. Strong patient participation is essential for the success of the project. The first partial results are available, a clinical trial has already been decoupled - and the interim review was so successful that the entire planned funding amount of 18 million euros will flow.
