Takte gegen Krebs 2024: With Brahms and Metallica for a good cause
What does it sound like when six musicians mix different styles and eras, give free rein to their emotions with Beethoven combined with The Prodigy, or rock the stage together with Brahms and Metallica?
The answer is: exceptionally well! The audience at the Takte gegen Krebs benefit concert was thrilled by the unique programme. The six musicians celebrated their debut in this joint concert, a unique blend of classical, jazz, pop, Balkan and many other styles.
Uwaga!, violin, viola, accordion and double bass, overcome musical boundaries and blend music that at first glance does not always seem to fit. They opened the evening with works ranging from baroque to pop music, before the internationally performing pianist and Steinway artist Sonia Achkar kicked off with a solo. The pure beauty of Frédéric Chopin's Fantasie Impromptu captivated the audience. The Sandmann Piano Quartet then proved how well Brahms and Metallica can go together.
Mezzo-soprano Isabel Pfefferkorn effortlessly played with the range of her vocal versatility, convinced in different styles and conjured up goose bumps with her expressiveness.
A concert full of contrasts and synergies, warm tones and rhythmic patterns, energetic and melodically flowing. A unique experience!
The benefit concert Takte gegen Krebs 2024 raised 22,000 euros for applied cancer research at the NCT Heidelberg. Many thanks to all donors who supported this wonderful evening with their beats.
