Online event on December 5: “When parents fall ill with cancer - support for families in difficult times”

8 November was World Day of Children of Parents with Cancer. This day is intended to draw attention to the special needs of children who experience their mother or father developing cancer. The Cancer Information Service also wants to address this topic in an online event. 12 out of 100 people who develop cancer have children under the age of 18 at the time of diagnosis. This presents affected families with numerous challenges. How do you explain the illness to children? What do they need to get through this difficult time as well as possible? How can the family cope with the changes to their daily lives and what will support parents? We would like to explore these and other questions during the event and present various support services.

The Cancer Information Service (KID) invites cancer patients and interested parties to the online lecture ‘When parents develop cancer - support for families in difficult times’ on 5 December 2024 from 4 to 6 p.m.
