Our group/department has:

  • Developed a mutation specific antibody to IDH1R132H nowadays used in every routine neuropathology (Capper et al. Acta Neuropathologica 2009).

  • Developed a mutation specific antibody to BRAFV600E (Capper et al. Acta Neuropathologica 2011).

  • Established VE1 antibody as a useful tool for the diagnosis of BRAF mutations in multiple tumor entities (Koelsche et al. Brain Pathology 1214; Sahm et al. Blood 2013; Capper et al. Acta Neuropathologica 2012; and many more)

  • Developed a diagnostic test for SFT/hemangiopericytoma based on detection of NAB2.STAT6 fusion protein translocated to the nucleus (Schweizer et al. Acta Neuropathologica 2013).

  • Determined KLF4 and TRAF7 mutations as the essential mutations in secretory meningioma (Reuss et al. Acta Neuropathologica 2013).

  • Neurofibromin specific antibody differentiates malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors (MPNST) from other spindle cell neoplasms.
