Pediatric Oncology, Hermatology and Immunology

 

Our group/department has:

  • Identified novel molecular risk factors of pediatric T-cell leukemia (Kox et al. Leukemia 2010).
  • Developed a novel actionable molecular risk stratification system for malignant brain tumors in childhood (Jones et al. Nature 2012; Rausch et al. Cell 2012).
  • Identified by genomic analysis a previously unknown form of treatable severe combined immunodeficiency (Greil et al. Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology 2013).
  • Discovered the role of regulated 3’ end mRNA processing in cancer progression (Danckwardt et al. Mol. Cell 2011).
  • Discovered important components of the circuitry of organismal iron homeostasis Muckenthaler et al J. Clin. Invest. 2011).
  • Discovered novel function of HDACs in pediatric neuronal tumors and translating these into clinical application (Oehme et al. PNAS 2013, ClinicalTrials.gov 01422499).
