Professor Cornelia Ulrich has been Director of the Department of Preventive Oncology since September 2009 and is Head of the Department of Preventive Oncology at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ). She is an internationally recognized leader in molecular epidemiology and cancer survivorship with more than 170 publications. She has served as organizer of several international conferences, including the American Association of Cancer Research, is a member of international committees and grant review panels and is currently leading several multi-institutional grants and consortia from the NIH. At NCT she coordinates the Cancer Prevention, Control and Outcomes Area. Her goal is to promote new interdisciplinary research on primary, secondary (i.e. early detection) and tertiary (i.e. prognosis) cancer prevention, by facilitating and funding interactions between the excellent researchers in this program area and the NCT clinical and basic research groups. Cornelia Ulrich oversees the NCT cancer prevention programs, the exercise and cancer program for NCT patients, the NCT BioMaterial Bank and NCT Development activities.
