Treatment at NCT
Outpatient Units
NCT has two outpatient units with 60 treatment places in total, where chemotherapy and other partly inpatient treatments are carried out, as well as a ward for inpatient treatment.
Outpatient Unit
In many cases, the outpatient units help to avoid long hospital stays and thus means a better quality of life for patients. During treatment we deliver care in close collaboration with doctors’ offices.

Besides application of chemotherapy, other therapies and acute-care treatments are also possible at the outpatient units, such as intravenous administration of blood products or other medications as well as invasive procedures (e.g. thoracocentesis and paracentesis).

Ward
The National Center for Tumor Diseases (NCT) Heidelberg currently has a ward with twelve beds. It is located in the Medical Clinic (Ludolf-Krehl-Klinik). There we treat a broad range of solid tumor diseases and accompanying complications. Our staff is highly experienced in giving care after interventions (TACE, RFA, ERCP, PTCD) as well as in administering complex chemotherapy and treating complications of such therapies. We are committed to a multimodal treatment approach, which generally also involves consequent physiotherapy, psychooncological care, pain management and dietary counseling by specialist staff.
